AMARRADORES PUERTO DE BILBAO

The Company was launched on 1 August 1990, combining the mooring and unmooring of vessels ,in the Port of Bilbao, until then carried out by several companies and private operators. The mooring of vessels, today considered a public service, is performed twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year. Over recent years it has been undertaken to meet the needs of the service, gradually achieving competitiveness, profitability, efficiency, professionalization, and diversification in other activities related with the Port. The Port Authorities indirectly render the port service of mooring and unmooring, via public tender. This kind of operation was begun in the Port of Bilbao under award on 13 May 1994. The Company performs other ancillary services:

  • Transport of persons and goods by sea. Tours of Bilbao's estuary.
  • Tours of the port of Tarragona.
  • Cleaning of ports and estuaries.
  • Maintenance of vessels and pontoons.
  • Marpol services.
  • Crews for hire.
  • Antipollution brigade.
  • Ship watchmen.
  • Bunker service.
  • Marineworks and dredging 

At the professional level, our operators have certificates from nautical/fishing schools as pilot of Internal Traffic and /or port's skipper and through Centro Jovellanos, centre officially approved by the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine, attend training and refreshing courses, specializing in salvage work, fire-fighting, methods of dealing with hydrocarbon spillage and rescue work.
